The Franchise Advantage

FRANCHISING ADVANTAGES COMPARED TO INDEPENDENT BUSINESS

A PROVEN SYSTEM TO FOLLOW

A PROVEN SYSTEM TO FOLLOW

Franchising begins with an agreement that stipulates rules and specifications required by the franchisor. It typically includes the use of the franchisor’s brand name, signs, logos, business operations, equipment, etc., This is important as the franchisor has refined these systems over the years and have now streamlined the business being conducted. Franchise owners independently oversee and manage their locations however, are legally required to remain within the scope of the franchisor’s system of operations.

BRAND AWARENESS AND NAME RECOGNITION

BRAND AWARENESS AND NAME RECOGNITION

By franchising your business, you create a name recognition and a brand that customers recognize immediately at all locations within the system. Uniformity makes it easy to replicate and manage the operations and this simplicity facilitates the success of franchise owners. Customers are far more likely to go to a franchise because if they have been to one, they know what to expect and are more comfortable with a franchise because they know they can rely on the same quality and services at all locations within the franchise system.

VOLUME PURCHASING POWER

VOLUME PURCHASING POWER

Independent business owners have to purchase at retail in most cases or, at best the purchasing power of one! Franchising allows for bulk purchasing rates. Having the clout of franchising with a recognized brand franchise owners make negotiating pricing and extending credit much more palatable to any supplier.

Franchisors also know how to negotiate pricing and create significant volume purchasing and cost saving advantages and pass these savings on to the franchisees. Thus facilitating the franchisees ability to increase their profits with a significant advantage in the profitability of all franchise owners within the system.

LEGAL DISCLOSURE (FDD)

LEGAL DISCLOSURE (FDD)

All Franchisors are required by law to provide all persons interested in the franchise with the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) at least 10-days prior to executing the franchise agreement or any money changing hands. The FDD document is regulated and required under Federal and State law and must disclose specific information about the Franchisor. Including financial information via independently certified and audited financial statements, training required, fees, advertising requirements, and other legal requirements of the Franchisor. Franchisees are encouraged to speak with a franchise attorney to review the FDD and prior to signing the actual franchise agreement.

FINANCING

FINANCING

We does have independent lending sources for those qualified that may be wanting to use our franchise development services in some cases. Also, new businesses, including your new franchise owners, need significant startup capital as well. This is especially true in regard to businesses requiring large retail space, equipment, and parking for example. Franchisors do not typically provide financing to their franchisees; however, as our client, we do have great relationships with many lenders that are more interested in funding your franchisees rather than independent locations or start-ups.

MARKETING

MARKETING

One of the most important things you offer in franchising is marketing. Not only do we provide you with a franchise brochure for prospective franchise owners but in today’s times our virtual tour approach allows you to prepare to actually handle the disclosure process, negotiations and get the word out in a big way through proven franchise publicity packages for you and your growing franchise network. Best of all most, or all of this can be included in your start up package, and continue locally, regionally and even nationally building your brand and sales that may all be financed through your franchisees contributions to your National Franchisee Advertising Fund.

TRAINING

TRAINING

All Franchisors provide new franchisees with a comprehensive and detailed itemization of the training you will receive. In fact, they are required to provide this to your franchisee before they sing an agreement. Extensive training in every aspect of their new business, from flipping burgers to which point-of-sale system to buy. And many offer advanced training to help you stay on top of your business as it grows.

SPEED TO MARKET

SPEED TO MARKET

If you have a great concept, the most important thing is to capture market share quickly through a timely, well-planned franchising strategy and launch. Franchise To Grow provides you with all the tools you need to get your franchise launched and your new franchise owners up and running in a big way. Franchisees have all the research, training and steps to ensure they have everything they need to be set up quickly and the right publicity to get the word out right from the beginning.

NEW PRODUCT AND SERVICE LAUNCHES

NEW PRODUCT AND SERVICE LAUNCHES

Our Public Relations Team can work with franchisors on how to capitalize on new product and services launches, promotions, events, expansion, etc. Using Public Relations is by far the best way to grow and build a successful franchise. Good Franchise publicity creates IMMEDIATE name recognition in new market launches, adds great impact adding tremendous value to the entire franchise system. The ROI on Publicity and the innate credibility that comes with it far outweighs the expensive cost of traditional advertising venues.

SITE SELECTION SUPPORT

SITE SELECTION SUPPORT

Rule #1 in almost any business or franchise is LOCATION – LOCATION – LOCATION. Franchisors typically have Master Franchisees/independent teams of real estate experts/innovative site selection software, and/or expertise to help new franchisees or those wanting to expand into new markets in finding the best sites for their brand. They can save the franchisee a lot of money also by assisting the new franchise owner in negotiating leases with landlords — which has a tremendous impact on profitability.

RESALE VALUE

RESALE VALUE

Selling your successful national franchise organization can be extremely profitable. e.g Jimmy Johns Sandwich Franchise sold recently for BILLIONS! The price is based on sales volume, location, and the success of the franchise chain in general. Existing locations are also appealing to investors and buyers as they feel more confidence in the locations’ chance of continuing success. In some situations the franchisor may also buy back your franchise and keep it as a Company Owned location, or, elect to resell it at a later date when they find the right franchise buyer.

FRANCHISOR ON-SITE FIELD SUPPORT

FRANCHISOR ON-SITE FIELD SUPPORT

Most franchisors as they grow will employ Operations Managers and Field Support Teams that assist in the day to day operations and provide support services for field audits, on site training and marketing support. They may also provide management coaching and training; staff training and assists with local media tours and publicity. Facilitates keeping franchisees compliant and avoids a lot of problems. A great franchise is when the owner can oversee and manage the business rather than getting caught up in in day to day minute.

FRANCHISE SALES – MASTER FRANCHISING – DISCOVERY DAYS

FRANCHISE SALES – MASTER FRANCHISING – DISCOVERY DAYS

We have found that the Franchisor is not the best person to try to “sell” someone on buying their franchise as this creates legal issues when there is a problem. We have a large team of seasoned and skilled Franchise sales professionals and franchise Brokers on staff from virtually all levels and segments of franchising. From Individual/Multi-Unit Franchises, Master or Area Franchises, and International Franchising Specialists. We are here to help you grow and expand your franchise system as fast as you want to grow. Allowing you to take care of business and support your existing franchise owners.

FRANCHISEE CO-OPS

FRANCHISEE CO-OPS

As a franchisee, you receive ongoing support not only from your franchisor, but also from your fellow franchisees. This can be locally, regionally, at annual national conventions, through an online support network, or just by picking up the phone. Franchisee Co-Ops adds to the ongoing support you receive from your franchisor, but adds regionalized peer support from other franchise owners. The Co-Op makes recommendations and provides vital feedback to the Franchisor. Franchise owners may elect to use publicity and online venues to create more immediate ethical and personal name recognition in specific markets. Using Publicity campaigns builds reputation while adding more credibility locally as well as to every franchisee in the entire franchise system.

FASTER RETURN

FASTER RETURN

When a known franchise brand has a new franchise in virtually any market, even with a new brand, when it is publicized in all the local media, social and online, creates immediate name recognition, credibility, and acceptance of your new franchisee. Then, by adding some good advertising, social and online media promotions, continues adding branding and customer awareness right from the beginning. Your new franchise owners can focus on taking care of customers and cash flow rather than trying to learn how to do all that complex, yet important, marketing on their own. Of course, getting cash flowing faster is far better than spending a lot of money on advertising that may or may not work in their local market and struggling while trying to build a client base and local reputation.

SITE SELECTION SERVICES

SITE SELECTION SERVICES

As the Franchisor we show you how to use the most innovative site selection software for your specific business type to assist your new franchisees in finding the best sites for their restaurant, or to sell your product or services. What is involved in franchising my business?

This section is specifically designed to give you some insight on how you can structure and position your franchise for simple and streamlined rapid growth without disrupting your existing business.

We are not like all the others when it comes to lead generation. Once you are all set, we do not ask you for more money every month for expensive franchise portal advertising that lumps your great franchise in with thousands of others that cheapen the entire image of franchising.  Nor do we ask you to give us thousands of dollars each month for portal ads, Google AdWords, Pay Per Click, Social Media Marketing or ANY kind of paid advertising, or out of pocket expenses just to get hundreds of calls from competitors, or unqualified leads.

To start a franchise, you will be investing a considerable amount of capital to develop the franchise legal documents, prepare state and federal filings, and a myriad of other important steps required or needed to create the tools you need to become a highly successful franchisor.

Here are the most important steps involved in franchising your business...

  • You’ll need to first form a new corporation just for the franchise business…This is typically YourCurrentBusinessNameFRANCHISING, Inc.
  • Next, you will need all of the required legal documents, that include an independently audited financial statement, and operational documents for every aspect required to operate the business.
    • You will need the detailed franchise training program manual,
    • a full Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) as well as independent disclosure documents that are required under state laws in several U.S. states before you can even talk to anyone about franchising.
    • a full operations and procedures manual, a training program and manual,
    • a policies and procedures manual,
    • a marketing and public relations plan on how you will secure franchise buyers,
    • a buyer profile,
    • virtual video tours,
    • a legally compliant Franchise link on your business website, (or a totally separate website),
    • There are also many Federal and State filings and registrations required under separate laws that require approval from each state before you can even legally speak to ANYONE about buying a franchise.

We have the skills, talent, expertise, and connections to help you through this exciting process and offer advice and input on virtually everything regarding your business to ensure everything from the menu, the store design, ensuring you are perceived as the best of the best franchise for your business type. There are many other critically important tools and insider tips and guidance provided that are essential in operating your franchise efficiently and profitability.

When you make the decision to franchise, you are investing a considerable amount of money as a franchisor so you will need to make sure to have a sound business plan to make certain you are on a solid path to financial success and also if you need to secure an outside investor(s).
